Non-Fiction Submission Guidelines

The following is a list of what should be included in a non-fiction book proposal:

Overview
Three pages that answer three questions:

  1. What is your book about?
  2. Why does it have to be written?
  3. Why are you the best person to write it?

Author Biography
Convey your credentials, expertise and media exposure.

Marketing Plan
Outline your strategies (already in place) to increase your book sales and visibility; for example, a website, speaking engagements, professional affiliations, endorsements, media contacts.

Competitive Analysis
List at least five current books on related subjects, distinguishing yours from the others.

Chapter Summaries
Briefly describe the goals and content of each chapter.

Sample Chapter(s)
One or two chapters that will enable us to gauge your writing style.
